Consistency in Business | 6 Key’s to Being Consistent

Consistency…So you’ve probably heard leaders say in that industry or in your industry that you have to take consistent massive action in order to be successful in your business. And this is true you really do need to be consistent and take massive action in your business if you want to be successful. But let me ask you this.

Have you ever had issues with being consistent?

I know I have.

Today I want to share with you the 6 Keys to Consistency. These are the keys that the top leaders in the marketing industry, that those 6, 7, 8 figure earners swear by in order to make them more consistent and hence, more successful in their business.

So, let’s jump in…

6 Keys to Consistency | #1 You have to have a vision for who you want to become

Now we’ve all heard the age old biblical reference that states without a vision the people perish” and this is true. If you don’t know what you want, or you don’t have a picture of what you’re trying to achieve… If you don’t have an end game picture of what you want your business to look like in the next year six years than you’re going to end up wandering around with hit or miss marketing strategies that never produces results.

You want to have a visual idea of exactly what it is that you want to achieve and what that’s going to look like. What’s it going to FEEL like to have the kind of business that is going to allow you to make the kind of money that you’ve always dreamed of! Visualize where you are doing business from. Are you doing it from your home? Are you doing it on the beach? You want to get really specific.

I know a lot of people like the idea of using vision boards and vision boards are really cool. I personally don’t particularly care for vision boards because it’s a big board that I usually end up putting in a closet somewhere, Lol!

Even if I put it on the wall, for some reason I don’t even look at it. But what I like to do is use an actual photo album, you know, those old fashioned photo albums where people used to have physical photos? wink, wink

You can cut out different images, different pictures of what you believe is representative of your vision for your business and, just start putting them in your photo album. It’s genius! Have the album be small enough or big enough to fit in your purse and you can take it around with you so you always have it where you can flip through it and look at it. You can swap out the pics at any time and you don’t need to mess around with glue or anything like that.

This is really an awesome way to keep you motivated to reach your goals. Now, if you like using a vision board you can also do that as well. Obviously, that’s going to work too. You just want to use whatever is going to get you in daydreaming mode. You have to start daydreaming. Daydreaming is a natural tool of creation. You want to start thinking and fantasizing and just seeing yourself and feeling yourself there.

6 Keys to Consistency | #2 You’ve got to have a routine.

Think about how you won’t go to bed without brushing your teeth. It’s become a habit. You have to start having a routine and create a specific time that you allot for yourself where you get whatever it is you need to get done, done. Which means you have to tell people in your family, “look do not talk to me between the hours of such and such because I’m working on my business”.

Tell your kids, tell your husband, that today’s the day I’m going to be working on my business and I’m going to be doing this every day at this time and they understand not to bother you.

Make a commitment right now to do this for yourself!

It is vital because you know how we can get caught up in our family, as women were always there. So you need to make some time for YOU, to take care of you so that you can achieve what it is that you set out to achieve. Right? Right.

6 Keys to Consistency | #3 Think about the alternative.

Ponder on what would happen if you DIDN’T achieve your dream.

What would it feel like if you were at the same job five years from now. If you had the same bank account with the same amount of money five years from now, what would that feel like? What would that mean to you? And I always talk about getting in touch with the feeling because feeling is where the connection comes. When you feel something then you’ll act on it. When you feel motivated you’re going to act on it. You really want to consider what life would be like if you never pursued your dreams and you weren’t consistent, you’d probably in the same place that you are right now. I know I’ve experienced that, so I know from experience.

6 Keys to Consistency | # 4 Have a 30 day goal.

I know some people say you want to have a 1-5 year goal but, its more helpful to have a 30 day goals where every 30 days, every month, you create three to four things that you want to achieve, and you make it a priority to get them done. It’s going to ensure that you know what it is that you need to do that month, so you’re not confused about what you should be doing.

Also make sure those goals are attainable. More extensive than a daily to do list but, not so hard that you can’t get it done in 30 days. Have something to shoot for every month whether it’s how many people that you want to attract into your business, how many sign ups you want to have or how many sales you want to make.

Even if they have to carry over into the next month, you’re not going to scratch them off your list no matter what, until you get them done.

6 Keys to Consistency | #5  Daily practice.

If you want to get good at something you have to keep it doing it on a daily. For example, if you’re learning a new strategy like doing Facebook ads or blogging, you want to do that strategy every day until it becomes a habit. If you’re blogging, you want to learn how to blog and do it on a daily basis. Now days you don’t have to put out a blog every day, that’s the old school way but now, you can do a blog once maybe twice a week. But when you’re just starting out you want to get into the habit of doing it daily, so you can master it.

6 Keys to Consistency | #6 Push Through.

I think this is the most important key out of this whole line up. The reason why is because none of the other keys matter if you give up. We’re all going to have ups and downs in our business. You’re going to experience stalls and even setbacks. But you gotta push through!

And I want to tell you a little story. There was a time where in the beginning of my business, I was so frustrated by the lack of results I was getting. I mean, I was seeing all these other people who were really making moves in their business and they were getting so far past me, I was like, maybe I’m not meant to do this, maybe I’m not good enough.

Right?.

We all know about not believing we’re good enough.

I thought, maybe this just was not meant to be. So I decided I was going to quit altogether.

I’m just going to get off the internet. I’m no longer going to put my time into this. I sucked off line and I’m sucking online!

So, for a whole year guys, for a whole year, I didn’t do anything in my business. I didn’t market, I didn’t think about it. Well that’s a lie. I did think about it and that was the problem.

I couldn’t NOT think about it!

Let me just explain to you that that was the worst year of my life!

I was miserable because when you have a desire in your heart, just because you quit doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to go away. If that desire is real, it’s not going to go away no matter what you do. You have to continue to do it no matter what. And for that year I just felt like I had no purpose in life. I knew that I wanted to make this happen. I knew I wanted to make this dream come true.

But, I didn’t do anything about it.

And I was depressed, and it was just a mess.

I was just hot a mess!

So finally, a year later, I got back on the bandwagon and I said, “screw this!” I’m going to do this no matter how long it takes me! No matter how many people I see flying past me, I’m going to keep going!

Because see, some people have more inner blocks and issues that they need to deal with on their rise to the top. Others may have little to no fears to overcome so they seem to just breeze through the whole business building thing…

They seem like they’re passing you up because they don’t have to deal with some of the things that you have to deal with. But see, the purpose of going through the process of building your biz is to get rid of those blocks. It’s through the process of building your business that the person that you dream about who is a successful business owner, who has this amazing huge audience, downline, or team who are selling all the products that you want to sell, will become.

Through the process you have to be cultivated and pruned, you have to be built from the ground up!

And when I got back into my marketing, when I finally got back into what I knew my heart told me that I should be doing, all of a sudden, new opportunities and people were coming to me. I learned real marketing skills, and how to brand myself instead of my MLM company. I started making good money and attracting people that wanted to work with me!

And I discovered some things about myself from that year away. I learned that being an introvert was not a curse but an attribute! Yes, I actually learned something from quitting but, I don’t suggest quitting. I had to learn the hard way. I’m telling you, you don’t learn the hard way!

Push through!

"As an introvert entrepreneur I don't particularly enjoy chasing strangers online, networking events, talking about myself on social media or anything else you can think of that involves selling! But, because I learned how to market online the right way, I don't have to do those things."
